The Strata Management Tribunal (SMT) is a legally recognized body that was formed to moderate any disputes within buildings with a strata title, whose jurisdiction was established under Section 107 of the Strata Management Act 2013 (SMA). Their aim is to deliver workable and accessible solutions for parties in conflict with efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and speed.
Due to its design for cost-effectiveness, no professional legal representation is allowed. However, it may be permitted under certain circumstances, where cases are complex, and one party is significantly disadvantaged by lack of representation.
